The house code was made for certain add-on accessories so that they wouldn't take up zones in programming. Honeywell incorporated the RF House Code into the programming of quite a few of their panels whether they be the hardwired Vista panels equipped with wireless receivers or their totally wireless Lynx panels. It features a false alarm prevention method by requiring that the button is pressed and held for two (2) full seconds. The device is very easy to use and operate. While the Honeywell 5802MN isn't our favorite wireless panic button, there are some things to like about it. There are better options available, which is why we only give it 3 Stars. It also features a relatively weak signal range. This is a fairly old device, and it has since been discontinued. The Honeywell 5802MN is a wireless panic button that operates at a wireless frequency of 345 MHz. The Honeywell 5802MN wireless panic button is water-resistant but should never be submerged below water. A low battery trouble signal will be generated once the battery begins to fail. The 5802MN is powered by a replaceable 3V lithium battery (included) that should last 3-5 years. You can even have it programmed to trigger a relay action (such as opening a garage door or turning on a light). You can have it programmed as a silent alarm or an audible alarm. The wireless zone used with a 5802MN panic button can be programmed for many different responses. If you plan on leaving the house with your 5802MN panic button, you should program it as input type unsupervised RF to avoid troublesome alarm signals. The 5802MN must then be brought back within range of the wireless alarm system (50' nominal range). If the security system does not receive the signal, an RF supervision trouble will be generated. If you program the 5802MN wireless transmitter as input type supervised RF, the sensor will flash its LED once every 70-90 minutes to show that it is checking in with the security system.
After activation, the 5802MN's red LED will flash several times verifying the signal was sent to the wireless security system. To activate an alarm with your 5802MN panic button, simply hold down the button for (2) seconds. You may wear the 5802MN around your neck with the supplied necklace or you may wear it on your belt with the supplied belt holder. The Honeywell 5802MN is a wireless panic button compatible with all Honeywell wireless security systems.
